I've skiied in Utah and Arizona, Colorado was totally different. It seems that we've always driven through the valley's and into the mountains for atleast a 1/2 hour or more to get to the slopes. Aspen and Vail, you walk across the street and get on the ski lift. It was so beautiful, the people so friendly and nice. It's like an island attitude transplanted into a ski town. Everyone is very earthy. We had so much fun. Oh, and I saw Melanie Griffith at Starbucks. She even talked to me. She said: "excuse me, can I get by? My kids are right up there", then she cut in line. I know, totally an earth shattering conversation. I guess stars go on vacation too, and it's not always to the tropics. He! He!
Standing on top of one of the peaks, looking out at the mountains I realized how much of a wilderness this little town was nestled into. The pictures just couldn't capture the vastness of the mountains. I wish I had a panoramic!
And the big event was the Mat Karney Concert. Which was held in a building that was the origional theater in town (origionally a silver mining town), built in 1890 I think it was. It was a beautiful building. The concert was super fun too. Brandon's so good at finding these intimate concerts that Mat does. We sat in the second row right in the center!
So it was an awesome trip. I had so much fun with my baby. We have been married for over 15 years now. I love making awesome memories with him and our family visiting these fun places. Like I said, I know: I'm a lucky girl!
